A few years ago, my friend Amanda Smith came by to help her friend’s husband select a special gift for her. The husband, charming and stylish himself, selected a necklace and locket for his wife – the gift was a success in more ways than one: his wife, Domenica, was thrilled with his thoughtful gesture, and I gained a new friend in Domenica.
Having worked at the Gagosian Gallery for nearly fifteen years in New York and Los Angeles, Domenica now works with collectors directly as a private art advisor. She counts Jean Michel Basquiat, Friedrich Kunath, Sable Elyse Smith, and Carmen Herrera as some of her favorite artists, and lists Karma, Lisson Gallery, Matthew Marks, David Zwirner, and Emma Fernberger as must-visit galleries in LA. We love diamonds, but our taste is for a subtle, understated sparkle that dazzles only when the sun hits just so. We introduced our classic Oval Link in all-over pave last fall, and while they certainly seem fit for the holidays, they really come to life in the glow of a sunset. WSJ selected this piece for their holiday gift guide last year and highlighted the core of what makes it so special: every single diamond is hand-set before the oval links are hand-assembled to form a chain. Like a couture dress, our pave-set jewelry can only be produced by skilled artisans over countless hours of precise and expert work.
